National Theatre Wales works with artists at all stages of their development ranging from internationally renowned theatre makers to individuals at the very start of their artistic lives.
There is a range of different ways that you can engage with the company, and we are always interested in hearing your ideas. In general we work with Welsh and Wales-based artists, or artists who have an interest in Wales and our way of working. Opportunities for artists include:

Our artist support initiative helps artists develop early ideas for performance across Wales.
Supports people who want to get involved with NTW, who want to develop their creativity, or who need support in setting up their own initiatives.

At certain points in the year:
- EMERGING DIRECTORS
Each year NTW offers paid opportunities for directors to gain more experience working alongside the director of one of our Productions. Join the Creatives group to hear when new opportunities are announced.
- EMERGING PRODUCERS
We are currently piloting a new initiative for new and emerging Producers to develop new ideas for performance alongside WalesLab artists. Join the Producers group to hear when new opportunities are announced.
- RESIDENT ARTIST
Is our annual initiative for an experienced artist to be based within NTW for a year and to help us in our decisions and development. Join the Creatives group to hear when this opportunity is announced.
- WALES DRAMA AWARD
