The Persians Accessibility Information
National Theatre Wales has a commitment to accessibility across the launch year, and aspires to make the work accessible and available to all, even when in unusual sites. This policy is adapted for the specific capabilities of individual productions. For The Persians:
The performance of The Persians involves a 20 minute journey by coach, a short promenade through tarmacced, moderately rough level terrain and a seated performance. The entire performance will be accessible for audience members who use wheelchairs and own cars may be taken up on site with advance notice, to replace the coach. For those with mobility issues the partial promenade section will be the only challenging aspect - a 10 minute walk with time standing for a brief element of the performance. With advance notice National Theatre Wales and Theatr Brycheiniog will put in place mechanisms to support any mobility difficulties for this section of the production. Please contact Rhian Jones for further information on: 029 2035 3070.
We regret that we cannot offer captioned, touch tour, or signed performances for this Production. A large print and Braille version of the play text can be provided on request to the National Theatre Wales office 02920 353070. But please discuss individual needs when booking as we will do our utmost to accommodate and enable every audience member's challenges.
Wet Weather Policy
The production will take place even in adverse weather conditions. Indeed, it will look wonderful in the rain! If a ticket-holder chooses not to attend due to the weather no refunds can be given. All audience members are advised to dress accordingly, and we will additionally provide full-length ponchos for every audience member in the event of rain.
In the rare event of dangerous weather we will cancel the performance and notify ticket holders at the earliest possibility. Ticket holders will be offered alternative dates, where possible, or a refund.
No umbrellas will be permitted for any section of the performance.
General Audience Guidelines
The MOD have kindly and uniquely granted us permission to bring the public onto a site rarely seen by civilians. It is an active site for training, and live firing does occur on the wider range. We ask that you respectfully honour the site and the experience of your fellow audience members through some basic protocols:
- No smoking
- No photography or filming on any device
- No mobile phones
- No cars are allowed on site
- Please stay with the audience group, follow marshall instructions, and depart the site promptly
Please note that there will be no opportunity to buy refreshments on site.
The performance will last approximately two and a half hours and the coaches should be back at the meeting point before 10.00pm.
